At Shangaar (operating under Shared Closet Circle), we value the trust you place in us when sharing your personal wardrobe or renting cherished ethnic wear. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, store, verify, and protect your information across our marketplace and white-label SaaS subdomains.
01. Information We Collect
To facilitate secure peer-to-peer and shop rentals of premium lehengas, cholis, and accessories, we collect the following data:
- Verification Data: Government ID details (such as Aadhaar card number/verification status) to maintain high trust levels across listers and renters.
- Profile Information: Your name, mobile number, delivery address, sizing measurements, and trust-level badges.
- Communications: Chat histories, media uploads, and message records linked to specific inquiry order threads handled via Socket.io.
02. How We Use Your Information
Your details are used strictly to run and secure the Shangaar platform:
- Verifying user profiles to assign Trust Levels (New, Trusted, Premium) and avoid fraudulent listings.
- Facilitating the order flow (managing date blocks on confirmed orders, processing rental agreements, and arranging pick-up/drop-off).
- Delivering automated SMS updates and OTPs via MSG91 for session logins and critical order updates.
03. Information Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We only share details in specific scenarios:
- With Listers/Renters: Your delivery address and verified name are shared with the respective party once an inquiry is accepted (status:
OWNER_CONFIRMED) to arrange dispatch. - With SaaS Tenants: If you transact on a shop's white-label subdomain, that specific business owner will have access to process your order.
04. Data Security & Retention
All Aadhaar verification assets, communication histories, and personal details are encrypted at rest and in transit. Government ID uploads are encrypted using military-grade AES-256 protocols on secure Cloudflare R2 nodes and deleted immediately once verification is approved. We retain chat transcripts and transaction ledgers only as long as necessary to resolve dispute cycles or comply with tax auditing.
05. Your Rights
You maintain full control over your wardrobe profile. You can update your sizing measurements, view transaction statements, request deletion of your listings, or request full profile deletion at any time by contacting our support team at hello@shangaar.com.
